Meet the Bridal Party!

Hello! I hope this post finds you all well. Thanks to all of you who have been checking the site and booking your rooms. As the date gets closer and I get a better idea of how many people will be staying on Friday and Saturday nights I will let everyone know which building they will be staying in.

This week I thought it would be nice to give everyone a little information on some of my favorite ladies – the bridal party! If you’d like to learn more about the bridesmaids and ceremony readers, please click the link below.

I hope you all have a great week!

Love,
Jill

I met ALETA MAYNE in college and we’ve grown closer and closer over the years. I’ve spent more time on the Chinatown bus than I’d like to admit because I love visiting her and her husband Steve so much. She’s has been a constant source of support and I know I can always count on her for an honest opinion. Aleta is one of the most special people in the world and I’m so lucky that she counts me as one of her best friends.

When I think of my 20s in New York I’m going to think of KATE MCCONNELL. Kate did a lot to break me out of my shell when I first moved here and for that I’ll be forever grateful. She’s one of the smartest, bravest, most genuine people I’ve ever met. She’s currently in the Peace Corps in Morocco and it’s been hard living here without her, but I’m so grateful that she’ll be back for the wedding.

I’m so happy that my sister-in-law, KYUNG COZZA will be a part of our wedding! Kyung has become not only a great addition to the Cozza family, but she’s also become a close friend to both Morgan and me. I’ve gotten to spend a lot more time with her in the past two years and it’s been so nice to get to know her better. She’s so talented and I’m thrilled that she and Tate will be standing up for us at the wedding.

When I was 15 I wrote a “Things to do before I’m 30” list. Number 2 on the list (just after “Meet Keanu Reeves”) was “Always stay friends with ELIZABETH O’CONNELL” (now known as Elizabeth Gianakakis). More than twenty years have passed since I met Liz and I still count her as one of my best friends. I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like but when we do get together it’s like a day hasn’t passed. I love her dearly and I’m sure I’ll “always stay friends with Elizabeth O’Connell.”

MARIA DELUCIA and I were roommates in college and I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had with her. I have so many great memories with Maria. She and I took a public speaking class freshman year where we sang a eulogy for my dead fish so I knew she’d be a perfect choice to do a reading at the ceremony. Maria is getting married in April to her sweetheart, Peter (who’s quite a catch) and I couldn’t be happier for her.

When I moved to New York I knew three people – and thank goodness ALLISON DUNMIRE was one of them. Allison lives in my neighborhood and she shares my love of karaoke and Neil Diamond as well as my fear/hatred of birds and she’s one of the few people who actually likes to go shopping with me. I’m so glad I’ve gotten to be so close to her in the past few years and I’m honored that she’ll be a part of our ceremony.

And last, but certainly not least, my MOH, NANCY MORMANDO. I don’t have a sister, but God gave me Nancy. She and I met in 8th grade and we became best friends immediately. I have shared so much of my life with her and I don’t know where I’d be without her. Almost every memory I have of Nancy includes me laughing until my whole body was sore. She’s an amazing woman and I couldn’t ask for a better friend or a better Matron of Honor.

So there you have the bridal party. I’m so lucky to have so many wonderful women in my life!

Love,
Jill
xoxo
