The Air Mattress Chronicles...
We finished painting our bedroom! It took a bit longer than we thought but it’s finally done. It started last Friday when our friend Stavros came over to help move furniture and tape off all the edging - Thank you, Stavros. That night, Morgan and I covered the floors and our bed with plastic so we could get an early start on Saturday so we slept on the air mattress in our living room. It was fun! It felt like camping with the added bonus of being able to watch TV in bed (what a luxury). I was getting the beginnings of a cold, but it wasn’t too bad.

On Saturday we primed the walls. Morgan did most of the work since my cold had gotten a little worse and he didn’t want me around all the dust and paint. The second night on the air mattress wasn't as fun as the first. I was so stuffed up but I was trying (rather unsuccessfully) to blow my nose as quietly and motionless as possible so I wouldn’t wake up Morgan. I also realized that trying to get up from an air mattress in the middle of the night when you’re 7 months pregnant is no easy task.

On Sunday my cold had gotten even worse but fortunately our superhero friend Allison arrived, wearing her painting pants and ready to help! She and Morgan spent the day painting the bedroom “vanilla wafer” and “green crystal” while I cooked soup and sandwiches for them. I had hoped we’d be able to sleep in our bed that night, but the green wall still needed more work so we spent another night on the God-forsaken air mattress. I finally came up with a system of getting up where I would roll onto the hard floor for support then I would hoist myself up with the aid of our desk’s leg.
On Monday night Morgan came home from work and set straight to finishing the painting. It looked great, but of course we didn’t want to take all the tape and plastic down until it was dry so we spent one more night on the air mattress. I don’t think I slept more than an hour or two because I was so dry from breathing through my mouth but I didn’t want to attempt to get up for water.

Tuesday morning we saw that everything looked good and we finally got to take all the tape off the floors and the walls and that night we slept in our very own bed in our nice, fresh room. Aaaaah. We are both so pleased with how it turned out and even though our little girl probably won’t even notice what color the walls are I feel better knowing it’s done.
That’s all for right now!
Love,
Jill

Great job EVERYBODY! The room has a pleasant, fresh, cool look. You and your baby girl will hopefully sleep comfortably come summer.
