Turner Meets Turner
Today on my 28th Birthday, I thought it would be fun to share
something I wrote years ago. I think this was written in fifth grade.
Was it 1988? A couple of explanations: in Canada we had a Prime
Minister instead of a President, and a GIC is a "Government Insurance
Certificate" - sort of like a savings bond.
Thanks to Grammie for digging this up!
Turner Meets Turner
It was a typical 2008 day. I was going to Starlight Pizza Parlor.
When I got there right in front of me was Prime Minister Turner. He
invited me to eat with him and he would pay.
After I had ordered the most expensive thing on the menu I started to
ask him some questions.
He told me his first name was Morgan. Strangely enough it's the same
as mine! He went to M.V.P.S. for grades 2-6. His Mom is a teacher
and soon to be a principal. He still enjoys having fun (that's why he
was at a pizza place!). He likes movies, food, tennis and fuzzy
animals.
His favorite things are still lunch, art and reading because they are
fun. Morgan is good at math but finds it boring! He likes sports,
parties, chess and checkers.
Morgan was recently given an award for being the first person to have
every Mad magazine. Next week he is going on a trip which starts in
Florida and goes on to Wales and England. He likes Germany and
Russia.
His best friends are Robert Wang the baseball star, Christ Wilson the
zillionaire sports card collector and Ian Norris the famous architect.
He's read Charlotte's Web 26 times and he's a part time scout leader.
He said if he had a million dollars he'd buy a car, a house and some
G.I.C.'s. The rest would go to charities.
After the interview and meal the P.M. stood up and gave the waiter a
$500 bill saying, "Keep the change!"
